Our Mission

Praise the Lord, precious ladies of God! I am so thrilled with the response to my web page, "A Woman’s Place". Many of you have written such wonderful words of encouragement, and I thank you so much for taking the time to write to me. Many of you have also written with concerns and problems, and I thank you for your confidence in me. It is my prayer that I have been of some help to you. It is my joy to be able to help in some small way, to be able to lead you to the feet of our Lord. That is where the answers lie, that is where our strength comes from. And that is where we need to be every single day. Many of you have also referred friends and troubled ones to me. Thank you for that.

Apply The Word

If we learn to apply God’s Word to our lives and problems, we will find a new measure of peace. Deborah Randall says, "Constant pressure on the mind and worrying over and over about a problem is not thinking as the Word directs us to. It is hard to have faith in God when our minds are so suppressed."Here is a complaint I’ve heard, which is also included on the website www.pamweb.org, under Q&A: "I tried Bible study, prayer, and obedience, but it didn’t work in terms of bringing me relief from the pain from my childhood. If psychology helps resolve this pain, why not use it?"First, your focus is wrong. The goal of the Christian life is not to be free from pain, but to become like Jesus. Second, I must challenge whether you truly followed God’s Word or not. To say that you followed God’s Word but that it "didn’t work" is to accuse God of false promises. To turn from that Word to the supposed wisdom of godless men is to abandon the living God for empty cisterns that hold no water (Jeremiah 2:13)! On the contrary, we are to let God be found true, though every man be found a liar (Romans 3:4). Yet many Christians abandon God’s truth and turn to the self-centered approach of psychology because it offers temporary relief from their inner pain.

The problem is not that God’s Word has been tried and has failed, but that it hasn’t been followed completely. We need to take every thought captive to obedience to Christ (II Corinthians 10:5). We must examine ourselves and judge wrong attitudes, thoughts, and motives by God’s truth (II Corinthians 13:5; I Corinthians 11:28-31; I John 1:5-10). We are to seek God with all our hearts and not lean on our own or the world’s understanding (Psalm 63; Proverbs 3:5-7; Isaiah 55:6-11). We are to seek first His kingdom and righteousness, not the things the world seeks (Matthew 6:19-33). No one who has done this can say, "It didn’t work!"I have tried it, it does work, and I am now committed to it!

When You Write to Us

The purpose of A Woman’s Place is to help women in their relationship with God. Sometimes, even though we pretty much know what the Word says, we can get bogged down in the details of everyday living and the problems that that brings. It’s easy to lose our perspective and get our goals out of focus. It is my hope that our mentors can help you regain your perspective. If we can see things like suffering—pain and hurt---past wounds---present afflictions and injustices---from the Lord’s perspective, we can grow in our relationship! We can become strong in Him. We can get the courage and strength to continue on. We can recapture the joy and the glow of serving our precious Lord Jesus! Our focus is so important.

Our Mentoring Program

Please understand that, should you contact one of our mentors, you will not receive any psychological counseling.  We do not believe in it.  You will be directed to the Word of God...His principles, and how they relate to your situation. To contact a Mentor, drop an email to Director@awpministries.org - write "Mentor" in the subject line. Please give the nature of your question/situation so we can match you better with a mentor.

So when you write to me about your problems and concerns, please know what my goals will be. Oftentimes, we simply need someone to listen. I am a good listener. Things spoken and written to me are in confidence. Your hurts become my hurts. I take all of them to Jesus. Together---you and I and, most importantly, Jesus—we can help you get back on track.
